When I think about coloring, I remember fondly of my youth holidays. When I was a child, my parents would take me away on a fantastic trip every winter. Some of those places were under cold temperatures. I remember one of these trips in Russia; the winter was cold, windy, and wet, but my mother always came fully armed and equipped. She would conceive these small boxes, packed with coloring books, pencils, crayons, and stickers. Some nights, we would all sit around the coffee table drinking hot chocolate. I still love to color. There is no obligation to be artistic, and there are no commands because trust me, I can't even form a stick man correctly. It is simple to do and can be performed everywhere. Coloring makes me feel secured and gratified. Mindfulness coloring is a gentle activity; coloring helps the brain concentrate, blocks out disagreeable experiences, and can allow you to take a step back from the turmoil of your thoughts and emotions. Then when you feel ready, you can approach life with more certainty.

When we focus while coloring mindfully, we substitute thoughts with a state of calm and quiet. For many people, this alternative to meditation is more comfortable to achieve. Creative activities have demonstrated the advantages of controlling our emotions better in promoting work performance. Everyone needs a calm moment now and then, so why not try coloring for yourself?

1. Feel less stress while you color

When we color, we concentrate on a particular activity and not on our problems. Some evenings rather than watching series or scrolling over social media, I take out my coloring book and offer myself some peacetime. When it reaches the time for me to sleep, I have less stress, and I am super relaxed.

In my city, we possess a coloring club. Every two weeks, people get together to color and make some fun. We utilize various tools to color, we are given advice and tricks, and some of my colleagues and I sell stocks and their artwork. The most enjoyable part is there is no obligation. It doesn't matter what you do or how great you do it; it's an occasion to meet like-minded people, unwind, and have a smile. I also discovered my coloring club to be one of the enjoyable activities to do with friends. Have one or two glasses of wine, chatting, laughing, and forgetting any problems.

6. You can do it everywhere!

I understand it's sometimes more comfortable just scrolling through your phone while you are assembling at a restaurant or waiting for your children at school—however, it's also very harmful to you. Technology has been directly connected to stress, anxiety, and depression and can mess with your concentration. Next time attempt mindfulness and coloring preferably – also, coloring can be delightful and give you that extremely required "me time." Some people find it is the one hobby they can have that they can take everywhere. I have personally used my coloring book while I travel, to parties, and even to a java shop when I require a "time out."

7. Stress be gone!

Colors are an essential tool that we can apply to change our mood. Usually, your opinions about color are personal and firmly rooted in your practice and culture. Some colors give us a feeling of serenity, while others can provoke rage or mean passion.

Sir Isaac Newton was the mastermind who found that it separated into all visible colors when pure white light passed through a prism. Colors in their simplest form are energy, a wavelength with its magnetic frequency. It is thought that those wavelengths influence the brain and body in several distinct ways. Using the right color and the exact choice and placement can thoughtfully affect your emotions, awareness, and behavior.

  • Red: Red is correlated with feelings of love, passion, and warmth. It is also considered powerful, fierce, and dynamic. Red improves fatigue and diseases. It also strengthens the heart and blood circulation.

  • Blue: Blue is peaceful and calm but can be connected with stability, blues, and aloofness. It can excite the parasympathetic system and decreases blood pressure.

  • Green: Green is a cool color; it signifies tranquility, good luck, wellness, and envy. Green decreases swelling of joints and tissues and ease the heart.

  • Yellow: Yellow can be dynamic and aggressive. But several people see it as pleasant and warm. It cleans the blood, improves digestion, and has a cleansing effect.

  • Purple: Purple symbolizes enlightenment and holiness. Some people find it expresses an unfamiliar, sensual, and even comforting feeling. Purple can also relieve skin problems.

  • Black: Depending on your culture, black can suggest everything from death and grief to life and renewal. Black consumes negative energy, and color therapists apply it for grounding.

  • Orange: Orange usually invites mental stimulation, interest, and warmth. Colour therapists use it to treat the lungs and improve energy levels.

  • Pink: Pink has a feminine and calming quality. Many people find it joyous, and it can spark creativity. Pink treats heartache and emotional exhaustion.

  • White: White means harmony, purity, and security. It improves mental accuracy and filters thoughts and actions.

While coloring, use colors that resonate with you. When I sense stressed out, I typically notice that I color with blues, purple and green. When I seem more upbeat, my color preferences shift, and I favor reds, oranges, and yellows. You can apply color in any style you wish. Whether you fancy leading a feeling using a particular color or whether you feel that applying a color could improve your mood, it does not matter. Just have fun!

Mindful coloring is not a medium we employ to avoid our problems or control thought. Instead, it is a tool we can utilize when we feel puzzled or overwhelmed by our perceptions and emotions. Like meditation, it allows us to soothe the mind and reevaluate our thought. Worrying all the time is not healthy; indeed, worries are the problem. We cannot resolve our issues successfully when we are in a perpetual position of panic. Problem-solving comes easily to a tranquil mind. So next time you seem stuck, discouraged, or worried, grab your coloring book and get lost in it.
